This week felt like a constant mix of movement, routine, and university deadlines. Busy, but in a good way; however, that is the reason this blog is a little short compared to the others.
Monday started at Valdebebas, where I attended a UCL pre-match press conference, which I’ve written a separate article about. After that, I went straight to the gym, slowly trying to keep some structure in my days again.
Tuesday followed a similar routine. Gym in the morning, then a train to Valencia, and of course watching the Real Madrid vs AS Monaco match in the evening.
Wednesday was spent in Torrent, sitting in a café called Rustic, where I tried to understand the Spanish basketball league a bit better, including the rules, schedule, and players. Later that evening, I went to the gym again and watched more Champions League matches.
On Thursday, it was time to head back to Madrid. The evening was spent with friends, Anouk, Claire, and Fran, trying an Italian restaurant called Boom Boom Ciao. It was honestly so much fun, and the cocktails were amazing.
Friday came with a class I was genuinely nervous for, taught by Phil Kitromilidis. The topic was sports narration, which is quite far outside my comfort zone, but also very cool to see him narrate a moment of a game. Next week I will have to do it myself for a grade… So that will be interesting.
The weekend started on Friday night with classmates at Claire’s place, followed by a visit to a bar they call The Cave, which actually looks like one on the inside. Saturday was fully dedicated to university work. Our group spent the entire day at Maison Kayser working on our communication plan presentation, which we present tomorrow.
Sunday continued in the same productive mode. Writing a personal essay was harder than expected, but the feedback made it feel worth it. The day ended with a meeting with our supervisor Eric McKee, checking in on where we stand with our final project.
That’s it for this week.
