Every student knows that every academic year has that one project that pushes you way beyond your comfort zone. For me, that moment came when two of my classmates, and close friends, Neda Kostovska and Franziska Wulf, came up with an idea that instantly stood out to me. It is bold, creative, and unlike anything we, including myself, have done before. Their brilliant concept? The “What If…?” Football Talk Show — a round-table programme that re-imagines football history and moments by asking one super simple question: what if things had gone differently?
From the first time I heard about it, I knew I wanted to be involved. Ever since I started my Master’s in Sports Communication and Journalism, I’ve been drawn to the world of TV and presenting — to the energy of live discussion, the challenge of speaking on camera, and the ability to connect stories with emotion. I didn’t know exactly how or where I’d fit in yet, but I knew this was the kind of project that could bring that (kind of scary and secret) dream to life.
As the concept developed, I joined the team as co-host in the streets of Madrid. It is a role that perfectly combines my love for storytelling, languages, and football culture. My focus will be on capturing real reactions and emotions from fans, while learning how a show like this comes together behind the scenes. From brainstorming and set-design to production meetings and filming days, I’ll be documenting it all here on Masters & Moments.
In the coming weeks, this space will become a kind of behind-the-scenes journal and a look into what it really takes to create a football talk show from scratch as a group of students trying to make something that feels real.
