It has been a while since my last update in this section, and honestly, the past month has been intense in every possible way. Between having a heavy fever and bronchitis, endless assignments, long university days, final project meetings, and friends visiting, the weeks disappeared before I even realised it.
Today the first trimester officially ended, which feels a little surreal, so I decided this was the perfect moment to share a one-time Monthly Moments update.
Below, I’ll add a photo gallery with a mix of everything that happened in between classes, match days, friends, and the flu.
Recovering From the Flu
Like almost everyone in Madrid, I caught the flu this month and ended up with a fever and bronchitis. There isn’t much to report from those days except for tea, rest, and sleep.
The only lucky part was timing: this happened during the quietest week of the trimester, meaning I only had to miss two classes instead of a full schedule.
Football, Sun & Karaoke
Once I started feeling better, daily routine picked up quickly. Our classmate Celiny invited everyone to watch the Flamengo vs Palmeiras final at night. Before heading there, we had a photography class with Paul Hanna during a Castilla match.
After taking photos in the sun and having dinner together, we went straight to the Brazilian final. The atmosphere was incredible. The whole place was filled with fans wearing red, black and white, and Flamengo won 1–0.
We ended the night in a karaoke bar!
Highlights From Class
This last month, I have had some interesting classes and met inspiring people.
The Adidas Office visit was one of them. We learned how Adidas works with athletes, clubs, campaigns, and branding. We even got a tour of the facilities and previewed upcoming collections that will be released in about six months.
Video Editing with Marcel is becoming more difficult each session, but still so interesting. We have now moved on from just simply adding clips together, to known how to cut, paste, change order, and add multiple layers of sounds.
Social Media Strategy with Louisa Stauß, who manages international social media for FC Bayern, gave an interesting class about global communication, audience engagement, and the reality of running platforms/digital campaigns for one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
A Very Special Visit
The highlight of this month was definitely having my three best friends visit Madrid for four days. These days were full of laughter, museums, long walks (15,000+ steps every day), dinners, bars, and endless talking.
I added photos from their visit below, and some of the places we tried will appear soon in Madrid Musts.
This Month's Photo Gallery
Now that Christmas break has officially started, I will be posting again in the new year. Trimester two is waiting, and I know it is going to be just as full, challenging, and exciting as the first one.
